EHR charting simulation

Your students chart real simulated patients in a live session they join with a 5-character code, while you watch every entry as it happens.

The toolkit

Everything a clinical classroom actually uses

Collaborate

Real-time collaboration

The whole class charts one simulated patient like a real care team. Entries land in the same record with no overwrites, and everything autosaves.

Medicate

MAR & barcode med pass

Scheduled, PRN and continuous orders, with barcode patient verification.

The medication administration record, showing scheduled medications grouped by due time.
Curveballs

Blocking alerts, mid-scenario

Push a critical lab to every student at once. The chart pauses until each one acknowledges.

Prioritize

Multi-patient assignments

Run 1 to 4 simulated patients in one session so students practice a real assignment load.

Four simulated patient cards side by side, with a switcher for moving between their charts.
Build

Drag-and-drop template builder

Compose charts from real field types in sections and tabs, like a real chart.

The drag-and-drop template builder, with chart sections and field types in a side panel.
Debrief

Audit trail & debrief

Every change by every student, timestamped. Grading and debriefs write themselves.

Library

70+ ready-made scenarios

From a first med-surg admission to ARDS, DKA and preeclampsia.

Homework

Homework that's a chart

Turn any scenario into a read-only take-home assignment, locked at the database.

A homework assignment overview, listing the assigned chart and the students who have opened it.
Two modes

One code. Two ways to chart.

Shared when teamwork is the lesson. Individual when judgment is the lesson.

The class charts one patient, like a care team.

  • Everyone's entries land in the same record with no overwrites.
  • Everything autosaves while students work.
  • You watch it happen, then debrief from it.

Both modes

  • 1 to 4 simulated patients
  • MAR and barcode med pass
  • Instructor updates and critical labs
  • One 5-character code
  • A timestamped record

Let's talk about your program.

One live session for one class, on a chart you choose.

How it works

From "open your laptops" to charting in under a minute

Build your chart

Drag and drop your own, or duplicate one you have refined.

Start a live session

Pick a template, choose 1 to 4 patients, and read out the 5-character code.

Debrief with the audit trail

Who charted what, and when. Walk the class back through it.

For students it's one screen.

The code, their student ID, and their name. No downloads, no sign-ups, no waiting.

The student join screen: a session code field showing K4T9Z, a student ID, first and last name, and a Join Session button.

From the person who built it

I built eHRschool because students deserve to practice on a chart that behaves like the real thing. Charting is a clinical skill. It should be taught like one.

Questions

Before you ask

How long does setup take?

Nothing to install, no IT ticket. Pick a ready-made scenario or build your own chart, then read out the code.

Do students need accounts?

No. Students join with the 5-character code, their student ID, and their name. There are no passwords to provision or reset.

Is any real patient data involved?

Every scenario is fictional by design. No real protected health information ever enters the platform. Nothing real to breach.

Is it accessible?

eHRschool is WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 AA conformant with a full VPAT. Read the accessibility statement.

What does it cost?

The pilot is free. Pricing is discussed after it, with no obligation.

Charting is a clinical skill. Teach it like one.
